CORRIGENDUM

Single nucleotide polymorphisms in protein tyrosine phosphatase 1ß (PTPN1) are associated with essential hypertension and obesity

Due to a programming mistake in the authors' automated genotype assignment, all SNP alleles were switched, and as a consequence, the alleles for all SNP names listed throughout the paper were reversed:

Name in paper    correct name
g.-7077G>C    g.-7077C>G
g.-4022G>A    g.-4022A>G
g.8235G>T    g.8235T>G
g.54281T>A    g.54281A>T
g.58585T>C    g.58585C>T
g.69220T>C    g.69220C>T

This is a name correction only for the majority of the paper, but has significant implications for Figure 2, a corrected version of which is shown. The authors regret this error.
